Discover unique handmade jewelry inspired by nature and life, crafted with love from cord, metal, stones, wood, textiles and thriftstore treasures. All my pieces are lovingly and intuitively handcrafted by my hands only, either in/around my home at the foothills of the French alps, in my nest on wheels or at the French south coast.

I'm Mieke, a nomad by heart, born in Belgium, and living a semi-sedentary life at the foothills of the Alps in France after venturing 8 years around the globe in search of the mundane and the extraordinary. Sometimes we take our campervan Barry for a little spin to explore other horizons. I am very curious and creative, so my interests and passions are quite elaborate.

In this adventure of having my own little shop I start with sharing my woven world, such as body decorations made by the art of macrame. My interests change with the seasons and personal cycles however and besides creating macrame I like to dye textiles with plants, play with different impression and drawing techniques, make herbals blends, explore natural cosmetics (soaps and creams), experiment with rapeseed waxed candles, do film photography, learn more about the mysterious world of fungi, sow my own clothes or textiles, explore how to work leather, make plantbased pigments, have my hands in the soil, etc. Handmade curiosities related to these passion projects will eventually find the way to my shop.

I stumbled on macrame for the first time when I was travelling in New Zealand in 2015. I started creating myself when I was backpacking through Mexico and Guatemala a few years later and connected with artists who sold their jewellery in street stalls. I was impressed by their gift, their persistence and their way of life. And so the story of becoming a macrame artist began that finally led me here, opening an online shop filled with items that are products of my imagination and creativity.
